Getting Started with Wing Foil
Wing foiling is one of the fastest-growing water sports! Accessible, versatile, and incredibly fun. The 30 Noeuds team guides you toward the right choices to start off on the right foot.
Why Choose Wing Foiling?
- One of the fastest-growing sports in the world
- Rides in light wind — from just 12 to 15 knots
- Perfect for Quebec and St. Lawrence River conditions
- The feeling of flying above the water is unique
- Fast progression with the right equipment
Typical Beginner Setup
- The wing — Choose a stable wing with good rigid handles. Typical size: 4 to 5m depending on your weight and available wind.
- The board — High volume for easier stability. A board of 100 to 150 liters is recommended.
- The foil — Includes mast, fuselage, front wing, and stabilizer. Choose a high-aspect front wing that lifts at low speed.
- The harness — Optional but highly recommended to reduce arm fatigue.
- Safety accessories — Impact vest, helmet, and leash are essential.
Typical Budget
A complete new beginner setup starts at CAD $4,000.
